Visit from MEIE and Investissement Québec representatives for the NOVINOR Innovation project

On November 2nd, the CDIVD and NOVINOR Innovation had the great pleasure of welcoming representatives from Investissement Québec and the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Energie du Québec for a follow-up visit to the NOVINOR Innovation “innovative project”.

In a private meeting, the business plan of the NOVINOR Innovation project was presented to representatives of both organizations.

The submitting of this business plan marks another step in the financing process of this great Novinor Innovation project; an organization dedicated to the development of research and innovation on our territory.

Visit of UNIBOARD facilities

This was followed by a visit to the facilities of the company UNIBOARD. This very interesting visit caught the attention and interest of our guests. Uniboard is in the process of modernizing its facilities with the replacement of all its production equipment.

This modernization is an opportunity for Novinor and Uniboard to collaborate in the technological upgrading of projects related to the work in progress.

Visit of Val-d’Or industrial park

Mr. Jean-Yves Poitras, Industrial Commissioner, also led a brief tour of the Val-d’Or Industrial Park, providing an overview of the territory’s past, present and future projects and the status of industrial land development. For several years now, specific development projects have been changing the city’s industrial landscape and clearly demonstrate that entrepreneurship is in good shape in Val-d’Or.

Luncheon and presentation of NOVINOR Innovation

During a luncheon organized for the occasion, the guests and partners (mining companies, subcontractors, representatives of institutions, CTRI, member of the City Council and of the MRC de la Vallée-de-l’Or) attended the presentation of an updated version of the NOVINOR Innovation project by Mr. Poitras.

From this presentation came an interesting and dynamic discussion, essential to the understanding by the government representatives present, of our reality and our ambitions.

Our guests were able to appreciate the local dynamism, with our partners demonstrating an unwavering solidarity and complicity that translates into a unique and impressive collaboration on the project.

We believe that our partners have also demonstrated the practical and hands-on application of NOVINOR in their companies and organizations through a vision of a short and long term future, if only through optimization and efficiency objectives, as well as through the creation of expertise, profitable commercialization and economic spin-offs of the research and innovation projects they have already identified. This vision is a pledge of sustainability for our communities.

Visit of Centre de transit minier nordique

We took the opportunity to familiarize our guests with the Centre de Transit Minier Nordique facilities, a northern logistics center dedicated to the industry located at the Val-d’Or regional airport.

The CTMN is an intermodal airport terminal that ensures the convergence of cargo, workers and administrative offices. It is the ideal tool that offers a flexible, efficient and customized solution for mining development in the Canadian North.

We thank Ms. Julie Turgeon, CTMN Division Manager, for her hospitality. She proudly shares the organization’s willingness to meet the specific needs of northern mining projects, such as the annual transit of over 80,000 passengers and 3 million kg of merchandise, intended for the northern territories.

The CTMN is an essential element of the NOVINOR Innovation project, differentiating itself through its unique expertise in Nordic Logistics.

In conclusion, we believe that we have achieved our mission objectives, which were to introduce our project and to have our exceptional collective expertise recognized, an expertise that radiates at the regional, provincial, national and international levels.

Novinor Innovation is a project that reflects the people of the territory: dynamic, inclusive, unifying and visionary. It is an economic growth vector in the making.
